Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains the leading cause of death worldwide. Numerous deaths and cardiovascular complications occur in vulnerable populations during influenza epidemics, which means that people living with CVD are particularly at-risk during these periods. In this webinar, WHF will be bringing together a panel of healthcare practitioners and public health experts to:

  • Discuss the use of influenza vaccination as effective strategy to reduce the incidence of respiratory infections and cardiovascular complications.
  • Discuss how healthcare practitioners can better encourage their patients to get vaccinated against influenza.
  • Understand the recent challenges with maintaining high influenza vaccination coverage rates in the at-risk population in Australia.
